so first of all I'm pretty excited because I just got a new batch of postcards from Moo to send!
and second, I wanted to share this link to an awesome post about postcards. seriously it's amazing and just makes me love postcards that much more.

I created a slide show near the end of my advanced digital photography class so I'm including that here, and then I've put the few photos from the class that I took after I put that together in a new slide show with my 3D design work.

things that make my day: light edition.

here are a few photos of some interesting light and lines I've seen lately. both times I saw it and couldn't help but take a few pictures. it's just sorta beautiful.

adventures of the little red suitcase. (part one?)

I had to do a little initial shoot for a class, and this seemed like such a fun subject. here it is all packed and ready to go, but I would love to do a whole series of photos where it travels around to different spots. though right now it's freezing outside so I'm not thinking about it. stayed tuned. . .? =)

january.

just thought I'd share this song before january was officially over. I love "sleeping at last," and I love this song and the way it approaches the beginning of the year. give it a listen.
and since we've had such nice weather and such a lack of snow, I offer this picture instead of something more "january white" looking. it's from a recent shoot for class, and it's one of my favorite parts of the place I volunteer.

creative endeavors &/or weekend adventures.

every once in a while shutterfly offers me free prints, and that's just an offer I don't like to ignore. this time I decided to just go through and pick some of my favorites, regardless of time and theme (mainly bright, colorful photos,) and this is the group I came up with. after seeing something similar on one of my favorite blogs, I knew this was what I wanted to do with the photos. pretty fun.

also, exciting thing to note: the new piece of artwork by Jeromy Morris right under it! how neat is it? way neat. (and the picture doesn't even do it justice)

p.s. my soon to be brother-in-law is pretty cool.

things that made my day.

trying to decide what pictures to post from the summer is far too overwhelming right now so I decided to just post my favorites from the most recent set in my "things that made my day folder." I was going for a more minimalistic look with these, and and I kind of like how it worked out. the dam is really stunning.

spring break tuesdays.

this semester due to a wacky schedule and six hour design class, I have tuesdays off! it's been amazing to have a whole day during the week do homework, sleep in, take adventures and all that good stuff, so they have been fondly named "spring break tuesdays," because when spring break ended it felt like it got to keep going in a way every tuesday. fantastic, and I thought it would be fun to share some pictures of what we've gotten to do during this time.

the first recognized spring break tuesday was the 22nd of march and I blogged about it here. it was such an amazing day that I decided to continue the adventuring.

then on april 5th I grabbed my holga and brother and went to old overland park to shoot the roll. the weather was amazing and and we topped the afternoon off with some delicious carrot cake at a fun little coffee shop nearby. here are some snaps from my digital:




for this one I slowed down the shutter speed and then zoomed while the shutter was open. pretty neat effect.


the 12th I kicked back and made another letter collection. it had been far too long. I love making experimental cards. =)




the 19th was incredibly delightful. we stopped in for a bite (or two or three) at Andre's. does it get better? I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. (and really we ate more than desserts haha)





this last tuesday I spent the day in pjs writing, and writing, and writing away. crazy papers. no pictures there. =)
