this semester due to a wacky schedule and six hour design class, I have tuesdays off! it's been amazing to have a whole day during the week do homework, sleep in, take adventures and all that good stuff, so they have been fondly named "spring break tuesdays," because when spring break ended it felt like it got to keep going in a way every tuesday. fantastic, and I thought it would be fun to share some pictures of what we've gotten to do during this time.
the first recognized spring break tuesday was the 22nd of march and I blogged about it here. it was such an amazing day that I decided to continue the adventuring.
then on april 5th I grabbed my holga and brother and went to old overland park to shoot the roll. the weather was amazing and and we topped the afternoon off with some delicious carrot cake at a fun little coffee shop nearby. here are some snaps from my digital:
for this one I slowed down the shutter speed and then zoomed while the shutter was open. pretty neat effect.
the 12th I kicked back and made another letter collection. it had been far too long. I love making experimental cards. =)
the 19th was incredibly delightful. we stopped in for a bite (or two or three) at Andre's. does it get better? I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. (and really we ate more than desserts haha)
this last tuesday I spent the day in pjs writing, and writing, and writing away. crazy papers. no pictures there. =)

things that made my day.
some of the random and/or fantastic moments of the last month-ish.
it's been pretty fantastic.
23 march. late night drawing shenanigans. (technically the wee hours in the morning of the 24th)
from that point till it was painted over. harry potter on the kitchen wall.
2 april. playing with sparklers and painting with light. (for a class no less!)
22 march/5 april. holga adventures and fantastic memory making.
5 april. spending the afternoon in downtown OP with paul.
6 april. getting a wonderful/exciting/thoughtful package in the mail. more on this later, possibly.
7 april. watching the motorcycle diaries. just as enjoyable the second time.
10 april. spending some time with the lovely, ever amusing duo: kcor and vgil. the picture says it all.
moment uncaptured: watching old sherlock holmes during thunderstorms while drinking hot tea. perfection.

creative endeavors: holga edition.
in the last month I finally mustered up the courage to break out my holga and shoot with it. (I've had the camera for about a year now and have been to scared to use it haha) it was a tremendous amount of fun! I am completely hooked. sure it can't give me crystal clear images like my dslr, but instead it produces such unique and interesting images. I also think it pushes me to slow down and think about the composition/light/color and overall interest of each photo I take which is so good for me. with a digital camera I can take hundreds+ and sometimes I think I don't really pay as much attention with that ability. but enough talk, here are some of the photos!
our attempt at ghosting. kinda fun. =)
