north lawrence is legit. that's all there really is to it. laura and I took a little adventure there a bit ago and had tons of fun walking ALL over looking for a waterfall. it was a great and sweaty time. =)

summer evenings.

these were actually taken at the end of june, but I couldn't help but share them because I love how they turned out. the weather was amazing, the girls had put up a tent with blankets and pillows to read in, and paul was out on the back porch just playing his heart out. I grabbed my ice tea and my camera and headed out. I do love summer evenings. (before they get hot and awful of course).

first are the pictures of the books I picked up at the library book sale. I wanted to get some snaps of them because honestly they're kinda making my day.

ocean love.

well I am LONG overdue for a post and this is one I've wanted to do for a bit.
I am a huge, huge fan of the ocean. I don't think I could ever get tired of listening to the waves. I've been lucky enough to visit it a few times and that was enough to create a great, big fascination and love for it. I miss it like crazy.

I came across this on little things and had to put together some of my favorite photos.

I really do miss it so much, but it also makes me so happy to look at the pictures. I have such fantastic memories.

creative endeavors.

I'm a big list maker and I love a place to put all the ideas I find, but most times these things end up scattered in a bunch of different notebooks and get difficult to track down when I need them. so once I put all my school notebooks away I realized the easiest thing for me to do this summer would be to make a specific notebook to use for lists and whatever else I needed it for. I got together some of my favorite supplies and put this together. I kind of like it too.

the past weekend painting adventure was such a success that I decided to have another one this last saturday. this time I gathered the troops and we had "creative time" (no joke, that's what they call it) all day. it was incredible. I wish I could spend every weekend like that.

I've had the itch to paint for a bit now and it keeps getting put off because there always seems to be something else going on and also since it's been a while it makes me nervous, but last week I went to my first Final Fridays and it was enough of a push to get me going. saturday I just wrote the afternoon off and painted. I did sketches, tried different color palettes, all that good stuff and I finished it in a day. how amazing! that really is rather fast for me though. here are the pictures of the process. what a much needed break it was!
