season of the tradition checklist.

time to break the blog silence I suppose.
in the past week we've made commendable progress on our extensive list of fall traditions, and we visited the Nelson again! (the grounds that is. we only had a tuesday to offer and the museum scoffs at tuesday goers and locks the doors. rude)




we spent some quality time at the pumpkin patch eating hot dogs and roasted marshmallows, giant pickles, and whatnot. tasty cider slushies also happened. when sufficiently stuffed for the moment, we picked out our perfect pumpkins with our favorite little pumpkin, then grabbed many apples and headed home for massive amounts of homemade spaghetti and meatballs and cheesecake. naturally.







today, after massive amounts of barbecue etc. and more celebrating, we carved our perfect pumpkins. though some may say we got carried away with the space references on our moon pumpkin, I think it's total perfection. =) we even shared the joy of making stars in the pumpkin with a screwdriver. too much fun.

what I'm grateful for today.

in anticipation of thanksgiving, I have been writing down a few things I'm grateful for each day. just the little things that happened over the course of the day for the two weeks leading up to turkey day. but it's sorta nice because you can take a step back and see that even if the day felt completely crappy, there is always something you can be grateful for.

here are some of the the things I came up with:

eleven.13.eleven: yellow sub!
eleven.14.eleven: a campus art tour instead of lecture, help when I wanted to scream at Adobe
eleven.15.eleven: a good critique
eleven.16.eleven: a new furry little friend named chloe
eleven.17.eleven: making an itty-bitty stencil, and the Kohrs getting here!

fall traditions #489-505: halloween weekend!

I love halloween. enough said. this weekend started with final fridays which is always a terrific time, then saturday we went to the importance of being earnest and that was a blast. sunday's when the real halloween fun started though. we carved pumpkins, and watched it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown, and then monday night I dressed up as a pirate and we had some awesome people over, left half to bake a terrific cake, and went extreme trick or treating, then we watched some classic Hitchcock. this is the way to celebrate, people.

fall tradition #452: pumpkin patch!

nice-ish weather? check. loads of flannel? check. much hay? check. bonfires? check. pumpkins!? check.
this past weekend we got to go to our favorite pumpkin patch. visits to the pumpkin patch are the greatest. we can break out the fall playlists, get covered in marshmallow goo, get our faces painted, AND, most importantly, eat basically the whole time. what more could you want? that drizzle to stop? we call that atmosphere.











oh, and did I mention strawberry and cream sodas? they're pretty great too.
